Need to learn to play Squadron Strike, Attack Vector:Tactical or how to use the Virtual Map? You can schedule a time with Mike (AVID Assistant developer), Ken (Squadron Strike/Attack Vector: Tactical designer), or Tau (Squadron Strike Scenario designer)
Why there are no "regularly scheduled" teaching sessions
In the past, we tried having regularly scheduled teaching sessions, but nobody would show up. Everybody had an excuse and pledged to attend a future event, which they never did. Meanwhile, the teachers were not happy with constantly arranging their schedules so that they could devote 2-4 hours teaching the game to an empty classroom.
So, we have taken a different approach. Our current roster of teachers have made their availability known (see the schedules at the bottom on the page.) This gives the students the ability to pick a date and time that works for them and the teachers.
Requirements
- Allocate 2 to 4 hours for the session.
- Have a headset or microphone. The sessions are done via Discord chat.
- The desktop version of Discord installed.
- An account on this web site is not required.
Notes
- The calendars below default to Chicago time (for Mike) and New York time (for Ken and Tau), adjust to your timezone as needed.
- Until you hear back from Mike or Ken, your session is not locked-in. Real life happens and they may not be available.
- The teaching sessions are free; however, if you schedule a session, not attend and not notify your teacher ahead of time, you will have to pay a $10 fine before scheduling another session unless you have a real good excuse.
- Ken, Tau, or Mike will email you back with details of the session. Please watch for the email and be sure to check your spam folder.
